Perfect for any vintage-style wedding, these time-tested designs are anything but antiquated. Our classic wedding dresses provide an updated look to the best vintage bridal styles, ranging from breathtaking tiered lace to stunning embroidery work. Gowns with delicate lace, lifted necklines and carefully placed beadwork complement a range of personal tastes. Victorian inspired wedding dresses look picture-perfect in traditional venues, but they also evoke a sense of gothic romance that blends modern style with a subtly steampunk vibe. Twenties inspired wedding dresses harken the era of flappers, the Great Gatsby and the celebratory spirit of the early 20th century.
Our size chart is independent. To choose the best size for you, please check the size chart on the product page, and refer to the measurements below each size. You can also refer to our measuring guide to see how to measure yourself. To ensure the dress fits you well, we also suggest you choose custom size, which means that we make the dress based on your exact measurements.
This article is a liar. The reason that wedding sizes are different from regular American sizes isn’t that we’re “more athletic” or any such nonsense. We’re as sedentary as we’ve always been, if not more. Also, that’s stupid, because if we were more athletic, we’d have smaller waists, not bigger. The real reason the sizes are different is because of vanity sizing. (look it up.) Marilyn Monroe used to wear a size 12 on average, but her measurements would correspond to a modern-day size 6 (size 4 if you shop at the gap and other “generous” sizers). You see, over time, clothing manufacturers have assigned smaller and smaller numbers to the same measurements to try and flatter their customers. I remember when I was a teen I wore a women’s size 5/6. Now, 20 years later, I’m 20 lbs heavier, but I still wear a women’s 5/6. I haven’t gotten any more “athletic”, believe me. And I try on my size 5/6 pants from the 90s and I can’t even get them over my thighs, much less zip or button them.
There are hundreds of bridal fashion designers out there with literally thousands of styles available, so we recommend taking the wedding fashion quiz to figure out what you’re loving before your first salon appointment. Once you have your short list, try on a few wedding dress styles to narrow down the silhouettes that bring out your best features and make you feel amazing.
If you saw any bridal shows in the last few months, capes are one of the biggest trends right now in the fashion design. Capes can be a great addition to a wedding dress because they can be worn instead of veils. Some capes are long, spreading all the way to the floor, covering the long back of the dress. These capes can give a unique, royal look to your wedding dress. Capes can be made out of lace or any type of material that will compliment a white gown color.
